Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks across assigned routes.
- Load and unload freight using proper techniques and equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Deliver freight promptly to customers while adhering to route schedules and traffic laws.
- Manage documentation related to deliveries, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean driving record and uphold safety standards at all times during operations.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using equipment like forklifts or manual methods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo handling.
- Experience operating specialized vehicles such as tanker trucks or flatbeds is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with dispatchers and customers effectively.
