We are a 120-bed not-for-profit nursing facility offering advanced healthcare while providing skilled nursing and rehabilitative services for both long and short term residents. The engineering Supervisor should also possess five (5) years’ experience in a healthcare setting. The Engineering Supervisor must possess ability to effectively communicate in the English language. Previous supervisory experience required. Must be able to interact well with interdisciplinary team members. Must possess ability to problem solve for Facility/Center maintenance and engineering needs. Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license. GENERAL OBJECTIVES:The Engineering Supervisor is expected to perform preventive maintenance and repair work throughout the facility as scheduled and to supervise support Mechanic(s) staff as needed and directed by Director of Engineering/Security. Must be able to problem solve and work independently. The Engineering Supervisor must be able to ably identify security breaches and issues as well in an effort to maintain the overall security/safety of this Facility. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Makes repairs to building systems, equipment, furniture and structure as directed.Keeps logs and records on equipment as directed.Uses shop tools and diagnostic instruments to make repairs.Maintains all work areas in neat and orderly functions.Informs Director of Engineering/Security of any malfunctioning systems or dangerous conditions.Supervises support staff (mechanics) with regard to all aspects of their job responsibilities as directed by the Director of Engineering/Security, and in his absence.Follows safety procedures including OSHA regulations and lock-out/tag-our procedures.May repair wall surfaces including sheet-rock and wallpaper.Actively involved in snow removal process.Interacts with other staff and residents in courteous and respectful manner.Works with other staff on larger projects.Knows the fire plan and disaster procedures.Is aware of and understands resident rights policies.Complies with the facility’s grooming guidelines.Demonstrates knowledge, respect and sensitivity of resident’s rights as identified within the Resident Bill of Rights and facility policy and mission statement. Assures confidentiality of all resident information.Attends both staff meetings and in-service education as required by position title.Performs other related duties as requested by the Director of Engineering/Security.
