Island Craft Fairs – Event Operations & Setup Staff (Part-Time)
Island Craft Fairs is growing, and we’re looking for hardworking, reliable team members to help bring our events to life across Oahu. If you enjoy staying active, working in a community-focused environment, and supporting local businesses, this role is for you.
Role Overview
As part of our Event Operations & Setup team, you will play a key role in executing successful events from start to finish. You’ll support setup and breakdown, assist vendors, and help create a smooth and welcoming experience for attendees. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position where your energy, attention to detail, and teamwork directly impact the success of each event.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup & Breakdown: Assemble and disassemble tents (10x10), tables, chairs, signage, and audio equipment such as speakers and basic sound systems
- Event Readiness: Ensure all event areas are clean, organized, and set according to layout plans before guests arrive
- Vendor Support: Serve as a point of contact for vendors, assisting with questions and helping resolve issues during the event
- Event Operations: Monitor event flow, maintain safety standards, and support a positive experience for attendees
- Guest Assistance: Provide directions, answer basic questions, and help manage foot traffic when needed
- Team Coordination: Work closely with staff to complete setup checklists and report any issues or damages promptly
Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 lbs and remain active for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions while adapting to changing needs
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive
- Prior event or hospitality experience is a plus, but not required
Locations
Events are held across Oahu, including Kapolei, Aiea, Hawaii Kai, Waikiki, Kaneohe, and Ala Moana.
Schedule & Shifts
Shifts are longer in duration, with the most physically demanding work during setup (first 2 hours) and breakdown (final 90 minutes).
Current recurring shifts include:
- Mondays: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Wednesdays: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- 1st Sundays: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 2nd Fridays: 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM
- 2nd Saturdays: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- 2nd Sundays: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 3rd Saturdays: 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- 3rd Sundays: 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- 4th Saturdays: 6:15 AM – 4:30 PM
