Family Ministry Director

Island Community Church exists to help people find and follow Jesus in authentic community.

Located in the heart of downtown Memphis, ICC is a diverse and growing church made up of young professionals, families, students, and long-time Memphians. We are deeply committed to relational discipleship, meaningful community, and living on mission in our city and around the world.

We are seeking a Family Ministry Director to provide vision, leadership, and development for a thriving ministry that serves children, students, and families.

This role is not simply about managing programs—it’s about building a culture of discipleship where:

• Children and students come to know and follow Jesus
• Parents are equipped as primary disciplers
• Leaders are developed and multiplied
• Families are connected into meaningful community
• New families are reached and engaged

You will have the opportunity to shape and grow a ministry in an urban, highly relational, and mission-driven context, with the freedom to build, innovate, and lead.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for discipling kids, students, and families
• Equip parents to lead spiritually in the home
• Oversee all primary ministry environments (Sundays, midweek, and beyond)

• Foster strong relationships and connection among families
• Provide pastoral support and encouragement
• Create meaningful opportunities for families to grow together

• Recruit, train, and invest in volunteers and leaders
• Build healthy systems that support excellence and sustainability
• Lead with clarity, vision, and relational strength

• Create pathways to reach and engage new families
• Lead strategic ministry rhythms, events, and initiatives
• Partner with local and global ministry efforts

• You have a growing, authentic relationship with Jesus
• You feel a clear calling to invest in the next generation and families
• You are a relational leader who connects easily with kids, students, parents, and teams
• You are both visionary and practical—able to build strategy and execute it
• You thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
• You are passionate about discipleship, community, and mission

• Parents are actively engaged in discipling their kids
• Children and students are growing in genuine faith
• Volunteers are equipped, empowered, and multiplying
• New families are connecting and getting rooted
