We are looking for a High School English Teacher to join our Al-Ghazaly Jr/Sr High School team! We're a close-knit group of educators who are passionate about helping our students succeed.
English Teacher Duties:
- Actively engage students in high level discussions and self-directed learning activities
- Recognize and acknowledge students’ thinking and learning patterns
- Provide high-level instruction, guidance, and feedback to students
- Provide a nurturing and structured environment for students
- Demonstrate effective communication skills
- Assist students with homework, assignments, projects, and study skills
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively to develop and implement curricula; create lesson plans and assessments; administer tests; grade assignments; and promote school initiatives
- Create, implement, and maintain a safe and orderly learning environment to maximize student achievement
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and diversified records of student progress, including attendance, grades, behavior, and discipline
- Evaluate student progress, monitor student behavior, and intervene when necessary
- Educate students about school policies
- Prepare and present professional in-services to colleagues
- Maintain relevant and accurate records, including student attendance records, grades, test scores, and disciplinary record
- Determine and implement educational goals
- Advise students on academic and college preparatory matters and support college planning initiatives
- Provide guidance, counsel, and referral to students and parents
- Manage administrative functions, including data entry of grades etc
