Test Floor Supervisor

Summary: Effectively manages a team of Test Operators to ensure that deadlines are met. Communicates goals and expectations with the Test Operators and Management team. Notifies Maintenance personnel when units per hour (UPH) is not met.

                                              

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

 

  • Ensure highest standard of quality and customer service, internally and externally
  • Monitors and delegates meals and rest periods to accommodate the shift
  • Communicate issues and errors to the Test Floor Manager, Planning, and Engineering departments
  • Documents pass downs and production schedules, and emails the information to management and applicable departments.
  • Ensures that setup duration is within the operation setup specs, and reports to Shift Supervisor of issues or problems
  • Records and informs Maintenance Supervisor of any jamming with machines that cannot be cleared efficiently
  • Enters lot information in TFS system
  • Assists in test equipment: handlers, wafer sort probers, testers, scanner equipment, hand/bench test equipment, etc.
  • Follows travelers and test specifications from customers’ and production control coordinators’ instructions.
  • Obtains specified test hardware from Hardware Control Room such as: probe card, load board, change kit etc.
  • Follows test operating instructions
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
  • Listens for machine alarm (due to jamming, loading assist, unloading assist, end lot, temperature unstable error, etc.) and ensures that it is attended to in the shortest possible time.
  • Documents test operation results per work instructions and in accordance with ISO guidelines.
  • Enters setup information once setup is done in the TFS system
  • Reads processing documents to determine test specifications
  • Cleans and maintains test equipment as appropriate
Qualifications:

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                                   

 

  • Recruits and hires test floor operators
  • Effectively manage staffing and labor levels
  • Oversees daily work of employees, creates and manages employee schedule
  • Reviews and follows production schedule and priorities, or as directed by Planning Department or Test Floor Manager
  • Provides employee training and assesses the work performance of their employees to identify areas that need improvement
  • Monitors and delegates meals and rest periods to accommodate the shift
  • Ensures all operators remain around their respective assigned tester unless assistance is required in other areas.
  • Ensuring that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met
  • Setting goals and expectations for test floor operators and making sure they comply with the company’s plans and vision
  • Reporting performance records and evaluations to HR and senior management

Education and/or Experience:                                                                 

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

 

  • Possesses working knowledge of GMP and GDP
  • Understanding of Lean 5S or 6S methodologies
  • Requires knowledge of: modern business English (read, analyze, and interpret general business and professional documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations), spelling and arithmetic; the operations of common office machines and equipment.
  • Requires ability to write reports, business correspondence.
  • Requires ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain a consistent teamwork mentality
  • Experience managing teams of people in a production environment
  • Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)

 

Computer Skills:

                                                             

  • Will be trained in ISE WIP database system.
  • Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

         

  • Advanced leadership and team management skills

Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
