Position Title: Collector II
Reports To: Collections Manager
General Functions
- Performs administrative tasks for supervisor and others as assigned.
- Handles past due calling by assigned regions
- Repossessions-handles repossessions and the selling of collateral
- Foreclosures- handles preparation for foreclosures and selling of Ore Properties
- Prepares small claims when applicable
- Handles MI Claims/ Rural Development claims when applicable
- Reviews monthly forced place insurance
- Reviews newspapers for foreclosure, deaths and estate claims
- Prepares invoices to be paid
- Process incoming payments on loans and charge offs
- Prepares loans for civil lawsuits, when applicable.
- Handles workout situations as applicable with customers.
- Review monthly reports- Charge Off’s, ORE, Repo Assets, and Risk Reports
- High School diploma required
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Preferred collection experience
- 5 years banking experience preferred
- Loan knowledge/experience preferred
- Excel knowledge/experience preferred
- Bankruptcy knowledge/experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently of others
- Strong word processing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to maintain a high work volume
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Willingness to take on new responsibilities to grow within the department
- Must be a team player
