Job Description

Description:
The ideal candidate will be interested in working with all aspects of electronics design, development, testing, and productization. The candidate will support a small team of engineers in designing, developing, and testing electronic and sensor systems for small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) and payloads. The job will be a hybrid work position based in our office in Denver (Northglenn), CO.
Job Role(s):
- Design and develop embedded electronics for sensing, communication, and other UAS-related equipment.
- Generate detailed hardware specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts (2-8 layer) for hardware boards.
- Conduct feasibility studies, analysis, and simulation for new hardware designs, ensuring compliance with military standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other electrical engineers, software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Perform prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation of UAS-related electronics systems
- Document designs, testing, and changes to keep configuration control and enhance team member understanding
- Maintain component and design libraries
Required Experience:
- Electrical Engineering B.S. degree (or closely related field)
- 3 years of professional design experience
- Proficiency in relevant tools and software for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE).
- Fundamental understanding of electrical circuits
- Familiarity with military standards and specifications related to hardware design.
Desired Experience:
- Understanding of electronics thermal management
- Experience with RF, software-defined radios (SDR) and frameworks, such as GNU radio
- Coding skills with VHDL and C/C
- Design and analysis experience using industry standard tools (COMSOL, ANSYS, Python, etc) and creating diagrams with Visio or similar tools.
- Experience designing, building, and testing all types of sUAS systems.
- Experience with GNSS receivers and other navigation systems/sensors preferred.
- Experience with NDAA requirements and hardware
