ROLE:

The Director/Sr. Director of Manufacturing Operations will be responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of manufacturing and warehouse operations, ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all quality and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, this role will directly oversee and translate manufacturing strategies into operational execution across supply chain, compounding, filling, assembly, kitting, inventory, fulfillment, and distribution.

This individual must be highly hands-on and visible, with the ability and willingness to step into operations as needed, remove bottlenecks, and keep production moving - driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the production floor.

This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a high-growth, build-and-scale environment, and who brings a “no job too small” mentality—balancing leadership with a passion to engage directly with frontline teams.

This role will be on-site in our Mesa, AZ facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations Execution & Leadership

• Lead daily manufacturing and warehouse operations, including compounding, filling, packaging, kitting, and distribution.
• Own execution of production plans to meet output, quality, and on-time delivery targets.
• Oversee the production leadership team, ensuring alignment, accountability, and performance.
• Maintain consistent presence on the production floor to monitor operations and address issues in real time.
  
  

Production & Facility Operations

• Ensure all production activities are executed in accordance with batch records, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Support the ongoing buildout, stabilization, and scaling of the Mesa manufacturing facility.
• Coordinate across departments to ensure smooth flow from raw materials through finished goods.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks impacting throughput and efficiency.
  
  

Quality, Compliance & Safety

• Ensure operations comply with GMP, FDA, and OTC skincare requirements.
• Partner closely with Quality to maintain audit readiness, documentation integrity, and product quality standards.
• Reinforce a culture of safety, compliance, and operational discipline across all teams.
  
  

Process Improvement & Efficiency

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, labor efficiency, and cost control.
• Partner with R&D and Process Engineering to support product scale-up and process optimization.
• Implement and reinforce best practices in lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
  
  

Warehouse & Inventory Oversight

• Oversee warehouse operations including inventory control, material staging, and distribution readiness.
• Ensure accurate and efficient movement of materials across raw, WIP, and finished goods.
• Partner with Supply Chain to align inventory levels, production needs, and demand planning.
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure alignment between production and business needs.
• Support new product launches by ensuring operational readiness and execution.
• Communicate operational performance, risks, and priorities to the C-Suite.
  
  

Team Leadership & Culture

• Build and lead high-performing operations teams across production and warehouse functions.
• Develop supervisors, leads, and frontline employees to strengthen bench strength and execution.
• Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Lead by example with a hands-on, “no job too small” approach.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8–12 years of progressive operations leadership experience, including direct oversight of manufacturing and warehouse operations.
• Required experience in cosmetics, skincare, or cosmeceuticals manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience overseeing full production operations, including compounding, filling, assembly, and packaging.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and OTC skincare requirements.
• Experience leading Plant Managers and multi-layered production teams.
• Demonstrated ability to scale operations and improve production performance in a growth environment.
• Strong balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
• Willingness to be highly engaged on the production floor and support teams directly when needed.
