Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and support DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS databases while ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with department security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, design, implement, and optimize database structures.
  • Monitor performance, tune databases, review SQL code, and maintain DBA documentation.
  • Support DB2 upgrades, catalog maintenance, point-in-time recovery, and database integration.
  • Assist with data architecture, infrastructure planning, disaster recovery, and technical staff mentoring.

Required Skills

  • 12 years of combined database administration experience with DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server 2008 R2/2012, and Oracle 10g or later.
  • Advanced DB2/z/OS administration, performance monitoring, upgrades, catalog maintenance, and recovery.
  • Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, ISPF, CA GEN, ASG Scheduler, COBOL, RACF, CICS, and related mainframe tools.
  • Oracle and SQL Server administration, integration, and performance management.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, infrastructure change verification, Windows Server, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, and Azure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with FDOT’s integrated database infrastructure and application environment.
  • Familiarity with FDOT Financial Management applications.
  • Experience supporting IBI z/OS services.
