Position Overview:
The Director of Child and Adolescent Services is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of all child and adolescent clinical programs at Iroquois Mental Health Center (IMHC). Reporting to the Clinical Director, this position ensures that services for children, adolescents, and families are high-quality, accessible, developmentally appropriate, recovery-oriented, and aligned with IMHC’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Director of Child and Adolescent Services translates organizational clinical vision into effective program implementation. The role ensures services are ethical, client- and family-centered, evidence-informed, and fully compliant with regulatory, funding, and accreditation requirements. The Director works to strengthen program performance, workforce effectiveness, interdisciplinary collaboration, and service outcomes specific to youth populations across all programs and locations.
Qualifications:
1. Current Illinois licensure at the master’s level in a behavioral health discipline (LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT).
2. Comprehensive early childhood education and experience
3. Demonstrated ethical judgment, sound clinical decision-making, and professional integrity.
4. Ability to maintain a grounded, emotionally intelligent leadership presence in a complex, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment.
Clinical Practice Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a limited clinical caseload of 22 billable hours per week to remain connected to direct service delivery and emerging clinical needs.
2. Model timely documentation, productivity standards, ethical practice, and effective engagement with children, adolescents, and families.
Direction of C&A Staff:
1. Provide clinical guidance and training on an as needed basis for staff seeing children and adolescents.
2. Provide weekly documented clinical supervision for assigned clinicians.
3. Maintain appropriate training, certifications and credentials for C & A staff.
Internal Meetings and Training:
1. Participate in IMHC clinical meetings to provide updates on industry best-practices, community outreach, and interagency trainings.
2. Participate in agency grants and contracts and partner school systems.
3. Participate in orientation and ongoing education to IMHC staff regarding the Child and Adolescent Program.
Clinical Leadership & Program Oversight:
1. Provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical services for children and adolescents, ensuring services are client-centered, strengths-based, and outcomes-driven.
2. Bring new tools and techniques to the team, clients, and community for improved service delivery and clinical outcomes.
3. Maintain and update designated environments appropriate for children and adolescents.
4. Serve as a senior clinical resource for children and adolescents, including consultation, protocol oversight, and staff training.
5. Promote coordination and continuity of care across internal programs and with external partners, including healthcare providers, social services, education systems, and law enforcement.
6. Represent IMHC in community and industry meetings to support partnerships, advocacy, and outreach consistent with the organization’s mission and values.
7. Establish primary office in Watseka and travel to each additional IMHC location or community on a bi-monthly basis at minimum to maintain connections with staff and community partners.
Community Outreach and Training:
1. Strengthen and expand partnerships with child and adolescent providers, social service agencies, and schools that are located in the communities we serve.
2. Engage in public outreach to increase awareness of services, early childhood development and the social-emotional needs of children and adolescents.
3. Provide training and consultation to early childhood educators, DCFS staff, healthcare providers, Juvenile Justice Coalition members, and court service personnel to build capacity in supporting young children and families.
4. Participate in interagency meetings (e.g., Head Start, DCFS, Department of Public Health, Juvenile Justice, court services, etc) to provide guidance, develop protocols and agreements, monitor implementation, and support quality improvement efforts.
5. Maintain accurate documentation of outreach and community engagement activities.
6. Engage with local and state partners and funding entities to promote best practices in child and adolescent services.
Pay Range: $75,000-80,000

Environmental Data and Job Hazards:
1. This salaried position includes a schedule based on program and team needs. Schedule may include evening and/or Saturday hours.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
