Summary: A Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing and supporting a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance and benefits administration.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet Guests & answer phones
- Manage full-cycle recruitment including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing and onboarding
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures and benefits
- Conducts new hire orientation, prepares and administers new hire paperwork
- Processes and maintains new hire paperwork and compiles reports in database Processes FCRA forms and conducts MVR & Background screening at new hire and on annual basis
- Maintains excel spreadsheets for various departments in relation to employee information
- Ensures DOT Applications are properly completed and entered into DOT Compliance portals
- Reviews Drug & Alcohol results, files and maintain drug and alcohol files in accordance with company policy
- Processes and maintains employee Driver Qualification File
- Completes Form 1-9, verifies 1-9 documentations, maintains and audits 1-9 files Scans, uploads and maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable law & company policy
- Provide guidance to management and prepare disciplinary action to management Administers various Human Resources plans and procedures for all organization personnel
- Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
- Prepares and maintains employee handbook
- Performs benefits administration, including benefit enrollment change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees
- Performs leave administration, including communication with employee. COBRA benefits if applicable, communication with operations and payroll.
- Maintains ACA program, files 1095 annually
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
- Maintains compliance will all federal, state and local employment laws
- Handles sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Understand and comply with company, customer and safety policies
- Perform other duties as directed by management

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office setting. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers and filing cabinets.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This position may require occasional evening and weekend work as job duties demand.
License & Certifications
- Valid Drivers License
- SHRM CP or SHRM SCP, preferred
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in business
- Five years of previous Human Resources Experience
