Automotive Service Writer/Advisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Automotive Service Writer/Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison between customers and the service department, ensuring a smooth and efficient repair process. This role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and listen to their concerns to determine vehicle issues or maintenance needs.
• Provide detailed service recommendations and explain repair processes in a clear, professional manner.
• Prepare accurate estimates for labor and parts, obtaining customer approval before work begins.
• Coordinate with technicians to schedule and prioritize repairs, ensuring timely completion of services.
• Communicate updates to customers throughout the repair process and address any questions or concerns.
• Review completed repairs with customers, explaining invoices and warranty information.
• Maintain accurate records of all services and transactions using dealership software.
• Promote additional services and products as appropriate, enhancing customer satisfaction and shop profitability.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Service Writer/Advisor or in a similar customer-facing role in the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of automotive repair and maintenance processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with dealership management software (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK Global) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in automotive technology is a plus).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

• Automotive repair: 4 years (Preferred)
• Service writing: 1 year (Required)
