IFS is seeking a skilled and detailed oriented Project Accountant to join our team. This role plays a key part in maintaining project profitability, supporting decision-making, and ensuring the overall financial health of each project. Job Summary: The Project Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial management of construction projects from start to finish. This role ensures accurate job costing, contract billing, and timely financial reporting while working closely with Project Managers, Operations, and the Finance team. The ideal candidate has strong construction accounting experience and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Financial Setup & ControlsSet up and maintain project budgets, cost codes, and financial structures in the company ERP/accounting system.Ensure compliance with contract terms, billing requirements, approved budgets, and cost controls.Monitor project costs, labor, equipment usage, subcontractor commitments, and material expenses.Prepare monthly project cost summary reports and maintain accurate work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.Billing & DocumentationUpdate monthly billing onto ERP softwareReview and process subcontractor and vendor invoices, change orders, and pay applications for accuracy and compliance.Track pending and approved change orders and coordinate updates with Project Managers.Financial Reporting & SupportAssist with monthly month-end close activities related to assigned projects.Analyze project budget variances and cost overruns.Support project AP/AR processes, including communication with subcontractors, vendors, and customers to resolve invoice and billing inquiries.Provide ad hoc financial analysis and management reports as needed.Requirements:QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.3–5 years of project accounting experience required, preferably within the construction industry.Strong understanding of job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and construction billing methods (e.g., AIA billing).Proficiency with Excel and construction ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, CMiC, Procore Financials, or similar).Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to support multiple Project Managers.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.Travel Requirements: NonePhysical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Salary : $62,300 - $81,700
