Project Accountant

Overview
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Columbia, MD in their search for a Project Accountant to join their team. This fully onsite role supports project-based accounting functions, with a focus on billing, accounts receivable, and contract administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process a high volume of client invoices, including supporting documentation and billing reports.
• Manage accounts receivable, including tracking aged receivables and following up on outstanding balances.
• Partner with project managers to resolve billing questions and ensure accurate project setup.
• Review contracts and assist with contract administration, including preparing subcontracts and client documentation.
• Manage subcontractor invoices and coordinate related billing activities.
• Respond to client inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain project records, including job setup, certificates of insurance, and required client reports.
• Support monthly reporting and other ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Accounts receivable and billing experience preferred, ideally in a project-based environment.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand contract language.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
