We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Private Ranch Apprentice. We are currently in the construction phase of building our ranch and during this time it will be very beneficial to find a candidate with a focus on heavy machinery operation and construction skills. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop valuable skills in ranch management, animal husbandry, and sustainable agriculture, with a particular emphasis on heavy machinery operation and construction during the construction phase.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the ranch, including feeding, watering, and caring for livestock, and maintaining equipment and facilities
• Learn and implement sustainable agriculture practices, including crop rotation, composting, and soil management
• Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including tractors, loaders, excavators, and bulldozers, to maintain and improve the property
• Assist in the construction of new facilities, including barns, fences, and irrigation systems
• Work collaboratively with ranch staff to ensure the overall health and well-being of all animals on the property
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery, with some prior experience preferred.
• Experience in construction and/or ranch management preferred, but not required
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
