**Southwest Education Academy is seeking a YIC Teaching Assistant Paraprofessional to work 27.5 hours per week.**

**The YIC Teaching Assistant Paraprofessional works under the direction of the school principal, working with classroom teacher/s to assist Youth in Care students who are in need of additional mentoring and academic support. Establishes effective rapport with students and motivates students to develop appropriate academic skills and attitudes leading toward improved academic standing, including credit recovery support in order to foster greater independence and responsibility in the student.**

- **Provides support to Youth in Care throughout the Iron County School District.**
- **Supports students needing help with classwork specifically in Math, Language Arts, and ACT preparation.**
- **Support students that are struggling academically**
- **Track student credits and monitor student academic progress**
- **Follows-up with students regularly**
- **Provides individual mentoring and support as needed **
- **Communicates with classroom teachers and foster parents regularly**
- **Work with classroom teachers to collect, document, manage, and use data to inform student intervention plans, referrals for additional supports, problem solving, schedules and services to benefit students. **
- **Able to use Google Suite effectively (i.e.Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides)**
- **Communicates constantly with classroom teachers, support staff, students and parents **
- **Ensure that changes to student programming are data driven and documented effectively. **
- **Provides instructional support assistance to individual students and student groups.**
- **Works with school professionals and other paraprofessionals to build the school's capacity to address student's academic needs. **
- **Maintains current knowledge and improves skill application by participating in regular on-going professional development **
- **Adheres to all local, state, and fed
- **Supports and helps to develop plans for students who have struggled with attendance and Tier I classroom behavior.**
- **Participates in the development, maintenance and carrying out of systems for classroom management. **
- **Guides students in working and interacting harmoniously with other students. **
- **Operates various types of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.**

- **Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.**
