About the Role:
Iron County Medical Center has a position opening for a Full-time, day shift, Cardiac Rehab/Infusion RN . This position will report to the CNO and candidates interested in this position must have training and experience in the following areas.
Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Lead in the Cardiac Rehabilitation program at ICMC in accordance with all regulatory compliance guidelines and evidence-based best practices including development of policies, procedures and protocols, acquisition of equipment and documentation systems, and collaboration with Cardiology clinics.
Evaluate patient prior to initial intervention, including the following components: patient history, physical assessment, risk factor assessment, and appropriate tests; document in patient medical records accordingly
Assist with orientation of new patients and with the development of plan of care, exercise regiment, and patient goal setting.
Supervise exercise/PT sessions, monitor patients for inappropriate responses to exercise regimen; make appropriate referrals and/or recommendations to the patient, staff and/or physician.
Administer IV infusions, injections, and medications following aseptic techniques and established protocols.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history review.
Monitor patients during infusion therapy for adverse reactions or complications, responding promptly to emergent situations.
Manage catheter care, IV insertion, and maintenance of vascular access devices such as PICC lines or port-a-caths.
Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health records (EHR/Epic/Cerner systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients receiving infusion therapy.
Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures, potential side effects, and post-infusion care instructions.
Maintain sterile processing standards and infection control practices to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
Promote discharge plan with patient and family in terms of commitment to lifestyle changes including home exercise plan and personal risk factor modification.
Perform other duties or assignments as departmental or organization needs require according to knowledge and experience and as assigned or requested.
Skills and Abilities:
Qualifications
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri with appropriate formal education.
Minimum of three (3) years’ RN experience in cardiology, telemetry or emergency room, experience in Cardiac Rehab and Infusion Therapy preferred.
BLS and ACLS certified.
Critical thinking skills are a must.
