Reporting to the Leadership Team, the Project Manager plays a critical role in overseeing multiple projects and driving operational excellence across the organization. This position requires a proven ability to manage the full project lifecycle within a commercial GC setting, including coordination with subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
The ideal candidate brings strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Your expertise in navigating the demands of commercial construction will directly contribute to the continued growth of Iron Construction, Inc. and reinforce our reputation as one of the Bay Area’s top-performing contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Budget control/fee management
2. Maintain schedule
3. Project and scope development
4. Meet regularly with owners/clients/team members
5. Multiple building department interface
6. Review project billing percentages
7. Review change order scope and pricing
8. Reading and interpretation of construction documents
9. Estimating
10. Project buy-out
11. Subcontractor management
12. Work with Superintendent on schedule
13. Maintain quality control
14. Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management
15. Business development
16. Maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity
17. Development of subordinates
18. Safety
19. Belong to and maintain relationships with professional organizations
20. Other duties as may be assigned.
The role requires a minimum of 5–7 years of experience as a Project Manager with a commercial general contractor. Candidates should have a strong background in high-tech, manufacturing, tenant improvement or life science construction projects, with demonstrated experience in at least two of these sectors preferred. A bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is ideal but not required; relevant construction certifications or equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
