Position Overview: The Manufacturing Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing second-shift manufacturing operations within our sheet metal fabrication department. This role ensures efficient production, high-quality output, and a safe, organized work environment while leading and developing shop personnel.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication and is highly skilled in programming and operating turret punch presses, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment. This individual will also be responsible for managing personnel, coordinating workflow, and maintaining production schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead second-shift shop personnel to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Program, set up, and operate turret punch presses, press brakes, and other sheet metal fabrication machines
  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production
  • Plan and coordinate daily production schedules and workflow
  • Ensure all parts meet quality standards and specifications through regular inspections
  • Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and process issues to minimize downtime
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to improve performance and skill development
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and proper use of PPE
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Collaborate with engineering and management teams to improve processes and productivity

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in sheet metal fabrication (required)
  • Strong experience programming and operating turret punch presses and press brakes (required)
  • Proven experience managing and supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
