Job requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical construction or supervision on industrial or large commercial projects; minimum 3 years of experience working with liquid cooling systems in data centers or similar high-tech facilities.
- Journeyman or Master Mechanical License, AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or equivalent preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and project specifications.
- Strong understanding of liquid cooling technologies, heat transfer principles, and data center mechanical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with mechanical testing tools such as pressure gauges, flow meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain professionalism in fast-paced environments.
- High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Other important requirements:
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
- Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
- Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.
Job responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise mechanical technicians, fitters, and subcontractors working on liquid cooling systems (e.g., direct-to-chip cooling, rear-door heat exchangers), piping, pumps, valves, and HVAC systems.
- Monitor team performance and ensure workforce compliance with project goals, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Oversee the installation of mechanical systems and ensure all work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Coordinate mechanical activities with other trades—including electrical, plumbing, and structural—to support seamless integration of systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and QA/QC teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.
- Ensure all mechanical installations meet data center standards, industry codes, and client requirements.
- Verify compliance of materials and equipment with approved submittals and project specifications.
- Support QA/QC inspections and address non-conformance issues promptly and effectively.
- Supervise pressure testing, flushing, and balancing of liquid cooling loops to ensure leak-free operation and optimal system performance.
- Oversee functional and performance testing of cooling systems to validate thermal, flow-rate, and reliability performance.
- Assist commissioning teams in validating mechanical system operation under real or simulated load conditions.
- Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety protocols, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and job-site inspections to promote safe work practices.
- Investigate and report incidents or near-miss events and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor daily and weekly work schedules and adjust manpower or resources to meet project deadlines.
- Track installation progress and provide updates to the Construction Manager and project management team.
- Manage material and equipment inventories to avoid delays and ensure timely availability of resources.
- Provide technical guidance on installation, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of liquid cooling and mechanical systems.
- Identify and resolve field challenges—including design conflicts and equipment malfunctions—using practical, timely solutions.
- Stay current with advancements in liquid cooling and data center mechanical technologies and help integrate best practices into field operations.

- Per Diem amount of$155.00 and project allowance, when applicable
- 15% night-shift premium for eligible roles, when applicable
