The role
We’re looking for a proactive and strategic Category Buyer to join our Procurement team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of sourcing a variety of plastic materials and products, helping us stay competitive and resilient in a fast‑moving market. You’ll analyze market trends, negotiate supplier agreements, and partner with cross‑functional teams—including Product Development, Quality, and Supply Chain—to ensure we’re supporting the company’s long‑term goals.

What You’ll Do
Drive Procurement Excellence
- Manage the full purchase order lifecycle—from requisition through receipt—to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
- Ensure all procurement activity aligns with corporate policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Planning, Inventory, Supply Chain, and other functional teams to align purchasing decisions with operational needs.
- Work closely with the supply chain to streamline processes, optimize logistics, and support business objectives.
- Develop and maintain productive supplier relationships to support continuity of supply.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and escalate complex challenges as needed.
- Support the development and execution of category strategies that drive cost savings, quality improvements, and risk reduction.
- Manage and support RFP/RFQ processes—preparing, issuing, evaluating, and negotiating proposals to secure the best value.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, cost‑saving opportunities, and performance improvements.
- Prepare reports that support strategic decision‑making and category planning.
- Identify opportunities to enhance procurement systems, streamline workflows, and improve overall efficiency.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- Experience in procurement, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of operational processes, customer requirements, and technical product details.
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills, with great attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience using ERP systems for procurement or supply chain activities (IFS is a plus).
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and familiarity with lean methodologies (preferred).
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Salary : $74,000 - $95,000
