IPHNY, Inc. is looking for a compassionate, confident, and reliable full time Overnight Direct Support Staff Lead to join the team at Seasonal Safe Haven. This role is perfect for someone who can take charge, remain calm under pressure, and help ensure our guests and staff feel safe and supported throughout the night.

This is an awake overnight position. Employees must remain awake, alert, attentive, and actively engaged throughout the entire shift.

What You’ll Do

As the Overnight Direct Support Staff Lead, you’ll provide hands-on leadership while helping Safe Haven operate safely and smoothly. You will:

• Provide guidance, direction, and support to Direct Support Staff
• Monitor the overnight shift to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed
• Delegate tasks and help maintain appropriate staff coverage
• Provide direct support to adults experiencing homelessness
• Create a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for guests
• Respond to guest concerns, conflicts, and emergencies using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques
• Conduct routine guest head counts, safety rounds, and building walk-throughs
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and other areas of the building
• Complete accurate shift logs, incident reports, hourly rounds, and other required documentation
• Ensure staff follow agency policies, program procedures, and safety expectations
• Assist with training and supporting new employees
• Monitor facility supplies and communicate inventory or maintenance needs
• Help keep common areas clean, safe, organized, and properly stocked
• Complete a final building walk-through before the end of the shift
• Communicate important overnight updates to program leadership and the incoming shift
• Serve as a calm, professional point of contact when unexpected situations arise
• Jump in wherever needed to support guests, staff, and program operations

What We’re Looking For:

Required

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Compassion, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Crisis intervention and conflict-resolution skills
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Ability to complete clear, accurate, and timely documentation
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and navigate stairs during safety rounds
• Reliable transportation
• Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled

Preferred

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience
• Experience working in a shelter, residential program, or human-services setting
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness
• Experience with safety and security procedures
• Knowledge of community resources or HMIS documentation
