Title: Quality Assurance Tech
Department: Operations
Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff
Status: Hourly
Position Purpose
The QA Tech will provide quality control and assurance throughout all phases of the production process beginning with raw materials and ending with the final product.
Principle Accountabilities
- Performs assigned, routine visual inspections and other specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
- Tests, inspects, and approves raw materials based on established quality specifications
- Sets up, adjusts, and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
- Uses observation and testing to identify faults in materials and manufacturing process.
- Compares results of inspections and tests to company's quality standards, reports results to supervisor for final analysis and action steps.
- Enters test data into computer systems for analysis.
- Conducts testing to support quality investigations.
- Conducts product audits, records results and issues corrective action if required. Initiates nonconforming material investigations in a timely manner.
- Prepares and issues certificates of analysis and other customer documentation. Maintains quality records as needed
- Conducts basic maintenance and calibration verification of key equipment.
- Always maintains a clean and safe laboratory.
- Conducts routine safety activities, including safety observations
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a manufacturing/lab setting. Thorough understanding of the product and/or process being inspected.
- Thorough attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills
