An Electrical Design Engineer is a member of our multi-disciplinary design team and will work along-side our engineering leadership. This Design Engineer will have opportunities to work on various types of renovation and new construction projects for commercial, multi-tenant residential and institutional building types, including health care, technology, utilities & education markets.

Position Description
Position Summary
An Electrical Design Engineer is a member of our multi-disciplinary design team and will work along-side our engineering leadership. This Design Engineer will have opportunities to work on various types of renovation and new construction projects for commercial, multi-tenant residential and institutional building types, including health care, technology, utilities & education markets.
Essential Functions
- Drafting of electrical construction drawings including details, plans & sections.
- Electrical load and energy calculations
- Design of electrical power and lighting systems
- Design of fire alarm systems
- Selection of electrical equipment
- Coordinating with other engineering and architectural trades during design
- Develop construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit
- Participate in developing details, equipment schedules and specifications.
- Research and assesses building performance and other regulations.
- Contribute to design discussions and carry design concept through to project drawings.
- Contribute to sustainable design discussions and implement sustainable strategies.
- Coordinate and communicate with other team members.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Aided Drafting
- Minimum 8-years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm.
- Ability to work with minimal assistance from senior staff.
- PE not required but a plus.
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience required.
