This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) located on the Emmetsburg Campus. Primary responsibilities include test proctoring for credit and non-credit students, assisting students enrolled in developmental and college-level courses with peer tutoring or other academic resources. Organizational skills, computer skills, multi-tasking, and an unwavering commitment to student and customer service are critical in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (% OF THE TIME):
Constant (67-100%)
Sedentary to light work. Position mostly involves moving about the Success Center to individually assist students. Talking, hearing, viewing various types of close visual work, and repetitive motion, constantly (67-100%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying and repetitive motion frequently (34-66%). Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Travel within the college's service area may be required. Must have valid driver's license, good driving records and provide proof of insurance.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

- Proctor university and college exams.
- Proctor Accuplacer placement exams.
- Interpret and enter placement test scores in college system.
- Accurately answer questions related to college admittance, testing requirements, program course requirements or other services offered through the college or Success Center.
- Maintain progress reports and student records/files.
- Proctor certification exams, such as: CASAS, CLEP (college-level equivalency), HISET (high school equivalency) practice and final exams, and other non-credit or credit exams.
- Monitor and assist students while testing or studying.
- Tutor students in developmental math, writing, and student success courses.
- Assist with peer tutoring program. *
- Complete required trainings and verifications to proctor exams.
- Communicate academic services to students enrolled in credit classes.
- Assist with college orientations and campus visit days.
- Work collaboratively with Test Center Coordinator and/or Dean of Arts & Science and Academic Success on daily tasks or new projects.
- Ability to effectively work with under-prepared students.
- Possess a working knowledge of personal computers and education media equipment.
- Possess a knowledge of various Microsoft systems, including Excel, Work, and Teams.
- Be a self-starter, with the ability to efficiently manage and perform multiple takes in an environment of frequent interruptions.
- Represent the college in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors, and the general public.
- Enthusiastic and energetic in job performance, maintaining high stands of ethics, honesty, and integrity in assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to assume responsibility and deal effectively with problems, exercising good judgement when making decisions.
- Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, punctuation preferred.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics/algebra skills preferred.
