Primary Purpose
- Maintain custodial equipment in a condition of operating readiness; performing routine repairs and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility
- requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual - Spanish/English preferred
- Basic knowledge of custodial equipment maintenance
- Ability to analyze problems to reach repair solutions
- Knowledge of basic bench tools and concepts
Experience
- Minimum 2 years equipment repair experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Assume responsibility for the safe and efficient operating condition of custodial and emergency response equipment.
- Perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and new installations.
- Document repairs and preventative maintenance utilizing current work order management system.
- Work with Custodial Equipment Repair Technician, Lead and Assistant Lead Custodians, Fixed Assets, and Maintenance Director, in maintaining accurate inventory of site based custodial and emergency response equipment.
- Travel to schools to facilitate repairs, preventative maintenance, and/or train custodial staff in proper operating procedures based on manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Work in cooperation with Maintenance Supervisors in maintaining the district’s preventive maintenance and energy management programs.
- Participate in district Standard Reunification Protocol as directed by the Incident Commander or designee.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
