Under the guidance of the Iowa Barnstormers marketing team, the Social Content Intern will assist with contributing ideas, developing content, and executing engaging content projects for all Iowa Barnstormers social media channels by engaging with fans, implementing trends, and attending team and community events to create content. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the guidance of the Iowa Barnstormers marketing team, the Social Content Intern will assist with contributing ideas, developing content, and executing engaging content projects for all Iowa Barnstormers social media channels by engaging with fans, implementing trends, and attending team and community events to create content. As a member of the Social Media Team, you will:
- Required to attend weekly meetings with the marketing team to brainstorm content ideas and discuss trends
- Required to attend content days one (1) day per week to film and create social media content with the team
- Be responsible for a minimum of two (2) social series featured on the Barnstormers social media sites, including curating ideas and creating the content
- Attend all Iowa Barnstormers home games at Casey's Center (regular and post-season)
- Create and manage game day content including live game updates, managing a social series, and staying on top of social trends
- Accompany Barnstormers mascot, dancers, cheerleaders, and players to events to create content and highlight moments
- Be able to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok
- Proficient in video editing for each social platform listed above
- Punctuality is required
- Be able to attend all Barnstormers home games at Wells Fargo Arena (April-July)
- Earning college degree in sport management, sports marketing, public relations, media relations or another related field.
This internship is unpaid.

Our re-launched internship program features a variety of positions providing opportunities to learn and advance your career in sports. Interns will take part in every Iowa Barnstormers home game and assist in the front office and in the community throughout the season.
