Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
- Run the stretcher as efficiently as possible, ensuring optimal production flow.
- Stretch aluminum extrusions to required specifications, keeping them straight and twist-free.
- Monitor the stretching process to prevent overstretching and maintain product quality.
Quality Control and Reporting:
Check flatness and finish of extruded materials regularly to ensure they meet specifications.
- Communicate with the quality control team regarding any concerns about dimensions and finish.
- Report any issues noted before, during, or after the stretching process to ensure immediate resolution.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment.
Maintenance and Safety Compliance:
- Complete daily preventative maintenance checks (PM) to ensure the stretcher operates correctly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating machinery.
- Report any malfunctions in stretching equipment promptly to maintain a safe working environment.
- Comply with all quality-related policies, procedures, and systems.
- Participate in safety and job training sessions as required.
Material Handling and Batch Preparation:
- Responsible for batching tables with the correct number of pieces.
- Use the material handling system properly to avoid any damage to the extrusions.
Team Collaboration:
- Actively collaborate with the press operators, quality technicians, and saw operators to ensure a cohesive production process.
- Support team efforts in troubleshooting and problem-solving to enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Assist with log loading, scrap dumping, tooling changes, and sample cutting during downtime.
- Provide training and assistance to new team members or operators as needed.
Qualifications
