Ionia County Health Department – Program Clerk
The Ionia County Health Department is seeking a dedicated and compassionate person to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting the health and well-being of our diverse community, delivering essential public health services, and promoting disease prevention strategies throughout Ionia County. The ideal candidate will possess a clinical background, a passion for community health, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
This position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (10:00 am – 6:00 pm the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month) with some schedule flexibility to meet community needs. No weekends or Holidays, except meeting specific program needs or during a public health emergency. The pay range is $16.60 - $20.40 per hour.
DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Personal Health Director, the Program Clerk aids all people who seek services at the Ionia County Health Department (ICHD). This position may function in any of the ICHD programs by answering phones, assisting with WIC benefits, scheduling appointments, and performing various other administrative duties such as computer entry, record-keeping, billing, and various outreach activities to promote ICHD services. May also function as a backup for the Program Tech in the lab as needed.

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one to two years relevant work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Clinical skills are a bonus.
