Caseworker Part-time - Ionia County Commission on Aging

Job Overview

Must have the demonstrated ability by previous experience to work and communicate effectively with seniors, clients, and colleagues. Caseworker or Social Worker experience is helpful, but not a requirement. Must be flexible and be able to meet deadlines. The ability to handle sensitive information and maintain client confidentiality in adherence with company policies is key. Great listening skills, and the ability to respond to client needs with thoughtful and appropriate service recommendations, information and referrals are at the core of what caseworkers do.

Top-notch computer skills are required. A proficiency test will be given at the time of interview.

COA Caseworkers travel throughout Ionia County for visits and assessments in client homes, write and collaborate on care plans, assist clients with referrals to other resources, document client needs in the agency database, and provide ongoing case monitoring.

Opportunity to contribute on special projects. Experience facilitating group discussions, with Medicare/Medicaid counseling, MI Tax Credits preparation assistance, or with other supportive services is a big plus.

: High school diploma or GED. A valid Michigan driver’s license and own reliable transportation is required. Monthly mileage reimbursement.
