Job Summary: This is a full-time, 12 month position that reports to the Dean of Arts and Science. The Project Director has the authority to make Program decisions and has the primary responsibility for compliance with New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations and requirements. The Director is responsible for providing leadership to the partnership, is the contact person in all matters involving the Department and the project, and is responsible for management of the grant and all related activities. Related activities include, but are not limited to management of the budget; program development and implementation, and evaluation; public relations; hiring and supervision of staff; student admission to the project; data collection; and preparation of reports and all other documents that may be required by the Department.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all aspects of LPP programing servicing 360-400 students across 5 sites
  • Provide middle and high school summer programming
  • Collaborating with key personnel at LPP sites regarding the provision of services
  • Monitor social and emotional status of students through SEL surveys and assessment tools
  • Analysis of assessment data and evidence-based, decision-making
  • Developing and implementing assessment plan for variety of services provided
  • Developing and implementing recruiting efforts
  • Writing all state and institutional Program reports
  • Communicating with NYSED and representing Iona LPP program at state functions/conferences
  • Monitoring all Program funds and providing state with up-to-date budget information
  • Maintaining all Program records
  • Reviewing progress reports from counselors and tutors
  • Hiring all program personnel
  • Monitor payroll/approve time sheets
  • Develop and implement activities, programs, and services for students eligible for LPP
  • Scheduling and attending regular meetings of Program Staff
  • Monitoring the Program to assure that LPP goals and objectives are being met
  • Developing workshops and programs in cooperation with other regional LPP programs
  • Foster a collegial environment within the Education and Psychology Departments
  • Completing any other tasks assigned by the Dean of Arts and Science
  • Occasional overnight travel required

Qualifications

Education: Required Master’s Degree in Education, School Psychology or related field.

Experience: Experience in the administration of funded programs focusing on student success; demonstrated knowledge of high school/college collaborative programming.

Specialized Skills: Budget/Project Management, Supervisory, Decision Making, Leadership, Mentoring, Building and Maintaining Relationships, Survey Design, Statistical Analysis and Report Preparation.
