Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems to process transactions quickly and accurately, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Deliver excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stock replenishment and inventory checks to ensure product availability
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders over the phone
- Support sales goals through proactive upselling and promoting current promotions or new products
Requirements
- Prior experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transaction balancing
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse customer groups
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Experience supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves in a grocery store setting
- Knowledge of grocery store operations and retail math principles is beneficial
