What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations position at INW Manufacturing, LLC?
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage production schedules, ensure sufficient raw materials, and monitor the entire production process to maintain efficiency and meet goals.
- Hire, train, and motivate plant employees, managers, and supervisors, provide performance reviews, and ensure established staff policies and procedures are followed.
- Supervise two production managers, the warehouse manager, and the maintenance manager over the course of a 24/7 operation.
- Accountable for training and development of an effective workforce within the plant.
- Uphold and promotes a safe work environment by establishing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting routine safety checks, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Create and manage the plant's budget, track and approve expenses, and control operational costs to reduce waste and improve profitability.
- Monitor plant processes, collect and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to increase productivity and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Develop action plans to address production related issues identified by monitoring RedZone OEE and downtime trends.
- Work with management team in the smooth introduction of new or changed products or processes. This can include the development of new methods and the installation of new equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to ensure equipment is in good working condition and the plant's physical upkeep is maintained.
- Prepare operating reports, analyze performance metrics, and present data and findings to senior management.
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Prepare for regulatory and customer audits and maintain required documentation.
- Conduct regular meetings to keep teams with the plan informed of current issues and events, procedural/operational changes, and new developments at the plant and the company.
- Act with urgency to resolve customer issues to maintain high service level and growth within the plant.
- Implements and communicates continual improvement of productivity standards in accordance with the site’s budgetary goals.
- Maintain facilities and manage facility budgets to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards and company goals.
- Collaborate with other departments in a professional and collegial manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements & Certifications:
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
- Related bachelor’s degree, MBA Or Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience required:
- 10 years’ experience in manufacturing with 5 years of leadership experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of lean management, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and work through others, effective delegation skills.
- Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners.
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of FDA, OSHA and other federal and state specific requirements.

Salary Range:
$145,000 - $175,000 DOE
