I'm partnered with a market leading manufacturing company based in Devens, MA that is searching for an experienced procurement professional to manage the direct materials commodity across the US & APAC regions. This position would be a standalone role without direct managerial responsibility but would manage the commodity groups within the direct spend.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for direct materials inclusive of machined components, castings, forgings, motors, electronics, mechatronics
- Adapt and roll out global category strategies within the US and APAC regions
- Ensure consistent execution across sites and align closely with operational teams on delivery
- Source and grow a strong regional supplier base to support localisation goals
- Drive supplier capability improvement initiatives and ensure readiness for scale-up
- Manage supplier onboarding and qualification in partnership with Quality teams
- Track supplier performance and address any issues through corrective action plans
- Maintain reliable and efficient supply across the region
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across procurement, operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain functions
- Support regional execution of new product introductions where required
- Serve as a key link between global strategy teams and local execution teams
- Build strong working relationships with regional suppliers and partners
- Engage effectively with both regional and global internal stakeholders
Experience Required:
- 7 years of procurement experience, ideally within the industrial or manufacturing sector
- Prior experience with procuring direct materials such as machined components, castings, forgings, motors, electronics, mechatronics
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
- In-depth understanding of regional supplier markets (US or APAC preferred)
- Demonstrated success in delivering sourcing initiatives and developing suppliers end-to-end
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
