What You’ll Do

The Quality Technician will report research results in support of quality systems. Tech will be required to actively communicate, both verbally and in writing. This position is responsible for supporting quality processes within the facility, which includes analyzing information and taking necessary corrective actions for quality issues.

Note: There are three focus areas for Quality Technicians; Receiving Inspection, In-process Inspection, and Final Inspection. Techs are expected to be able to perform the duties of all focus areas, however, they are typically assigned to a specific focus area of which they are expected to take ownership and continually improve processes and methods.


Responsibilities (Including other duties as assigned)

  • Utilize Non-Conformance Reporting and Corrective Action Systems as required.
  • Inspect and test document and report findings.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.
  • Perform product identification and traceability activities, when required.
  • Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions.
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and suppliers.
  • Document information electronically in various databases and other internal programs.
  • Conduct various tests and quality checks on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
  • Ensure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, have adequate readability of labels, etc.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with all quality and safety standards.
  • Audit, monitor, and report on compliance to internal and external Quality System requirements.
  • Scan and file incoming material documentation.


What You Will Need

  • Associate Degree.
  • At least five (5) years of experience using standard inspection equipment and methods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to skillfully use standard inspection gages, tools, and methods.
  • Have full understanding of root cause analysis to promote continuous improvement.
  • Basic knowledge of basic mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Familiarity with ERP system.
  • Knowledge of how to effectively use the ERP system and standard office software programs.
