Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Burglar and Fire Alarm Technician to join our family-owned company. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting Firelite fire alarm systems, AES mesh network radios, and NAPCO burglar alarm systems. You would be the face of our company out on the field. This requires professionalism and inherent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Install and service Firelite line of fire equipment according to provided Auto Cad drawings.
- Install and service AES Intellinet radios.
- Install and service NAPCO burglar alarm products, including Starlink Cellular radios.
- Perform cabling tasks including but not limited to running low voltage cables for alarms and power supplies.
- Use all tools of our trade, including but not limited to running wire, bending conduit, and programming via provided laptop.
- Ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting, including but not limited to diagnosing wiring faults, ground faults, faulty devices, and radio network connectivity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a burglar alarm and fire alarm technician with a strong background in system installation and maintenance.
- State of Illinois PERC card required.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record required.
- Nicet Certification preferred.
- Proven experience in annual fire alarm inspections according to NFPA-72 code.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of NFPA-72 and NFPA-70 codes.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience for troubleshooting wiring issues and hardware failures.
- Ability to read Auto Cad drawings for fire alarm installation.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Excellent field service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours minimum, unaided as well as perform job duties in tight spaces and high areas.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
