A fast-growing renewable energy platform focused on distributed generation, energy storage, and long-term commercial partnerships is seeking a senior leader to help scale its development and origination platform.
This individual will play a critical role at the intersection of strategic partnerships, project development, and operational scalability. The position is ideal for someone who has not only led renewable energy development efforts but also built durable external relationships that consistently generate project opportunities across a portfolio.
The organization is entering a significant growth phase and is looking for a hands-on leader who understands how to evolve development processes, systems, and internal infrastructure in order to scale efficiently without simply adding headcount.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic oversight of renewable energy and energy storage programs sourced through both internal origination efforts and external development partnerships
- Manage and strengthen long-term commercial relationships that drive recurring project flow and portfolio growth
- Coordinate across development, finance, engineering, and construction teams to move projects efficiently through commercialization
- Step into active development responsibilities when needed, including permitting, site control, utility coordination, incentives, offtake, and other pre-construction activities
- Improve and refine internal development workflows, reporting systems, and portfolio management tools to support scalable execution
- Support diligence, transaction readiness, and financing processes for development-stage assets
- Help shape a broader platform strategy around programmatic development and operational efficiency
Ideal Background
- 7–15 years of renewable energy development experience, preferably within distributed generation, storage, or broader energy transition infrastructure
- Demonstrated success leading strategic external partnerships that produced a meaningful and repeatable pipeline of projects
- Experience owning projects “from the inside” and understanding the realities of hands-on development execution
- Strong operational mindset with a track record of improving systems, processes, and development infrastructure
- Ability to balance detailed project management with broader strategic thinking
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across both internal and external teams
- Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving growth environment
