We are seeking an Environmental Engineer for a Consulting Engineering firm in the Portland, Maine area.
As Environmental Engineer, you will perform landfill design work, from concept through design completion and work closely with clients on projects including design, rehabilitation, and closure of landfill cells (landfill liners, leachate, gas, and stormwater management systems).
What You'll be Doing:
As Environmental Engineer, you will perform landfill design work, from concept through design completion and work closely with clients on projects including design, rehabilitation, and closure of landfill cells (landfill liners, leachate, gas, and stormwater management systems).
What You'll be Doing:
- preparing permits, technical reports, and detailed landfill design plans and specifications
- monitoring or managing landfill construction projects
- protecting surface and groundwater by evaluating water quality data, writing reports, and monitoring test borings and test pits.
- 3 years of civil/environmental related design experience
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- experience in site grading, stormwater management design, and erosion control design (preferred)
- Familiar with geology, hydrogeology, soil science, construction, specification preparation, pumping system design (preferred),
- Engineering Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred)
