As a Lead Guide, you are responsible for delivering outstanding tour experiences, supporting and mentoring guides, and contributing to the growth and quality of our operations in your city.

Our Urban Adventures tours take travelers beyond the guidebook - whether that’s uncovering local history in LoDo, tasting our way through Denver’s food scene, or sharing the quirky facts and hidden gems that make the Mile High City special.


In Denver, the Lead Guides are part-time, variable-hour positions, requiring a minimum availability of 20 hours per week, with schedules determined by business needs and volume.

  • Have passion and knowledge for and of your destination
  • A passion for travel, food, culture, and/or history
  • Excellent story-telling skills
  • Excellent communication skills with individuals and group of people
  • Empathy and emotional intelligence
  • High standards customer experience
  • An understanding of and belief in Intrepid’s Responsible Travel philosophy and Core Values
  • Outstanding organizational management skills
  • Problem solving and decision-making capacities
  • A friendly, engaging, and energetic personality


To be considered you may also have:


  • Excellent communication in English and ideally one other local language (the more the better!)
  • Strong customer service experience and experience in developing a rapport with a broad range of travelers
  • Ability to manage trip budget and handle sums of money
  • Map reading skills and a good sense of direction



Desired Skills & attributes:


  • A willingness to work flexible hours according to the groups needs
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates recommended
  • Leave No Trace Online Awareness Certificate recommended
