Operations Manufacturing Manager

 A leading aerospace and defense supplier is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement across molding, assembly, and production control departments. This is a high-impact leadership role with responsibility for 60–150 employees and full operational oversight within a key business unit.

 

What You’ll Do

• Lead and direct daily manufacturing operations, ensuring on-time delivery, productivity, and quality goals are met

• Oversee production planning, scheduling, inventory accuracy, cost controls, and capital equipment utilization

• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping) to improve efficiency and reduce waste

• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, purchasing, inspection, and engineering teams to ensure optimal production output

• Manage and mentor a large team including supervisors and support staff

• Own performance metrics around safety, quality, throughput, cost, and customer satisfaction

• Proactively address production issues, safety concerns, and team development needs

 

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field

• 7 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense strongly preferred)

• Proven background in lean manufacturing, cost reduction, and process optimization

• ERP system fluency; strong understanding of ISO/AS9100 standards

• Ability to lead large teams, inspire accountability, and drive cultural and operational improvements

• Strong communication, coaching, and cross-functional leadership skills

• Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
