Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAS Administrator/Migration Consultant to lead the migration of an on-premises SAS 9.4 environment to AWS for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. The consultant will be responsible for installing, configuring, migrating, validating, and supporting the SAS platform while ensuring compliance with security standards and successful user acceptance testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure SAS 9.4m8 in an AWS production environment.
- Plan and execute migration of existing on-premises SAS infrastructure to AWS.
- Migrate SAS metadata, users, libraries, datasets, Enterprise Guide projects, programs, and source files.
- Create Pre-Installation Requirements Documentation (PIRD).
- Download and deploy SAS Software Depot and required components.
- Apply SAS hotfixes and validate post-installation functionality.
- Configure SAS Metadata Libraries and SAS/Access for PC File formats.
- Consolidate three on-premises servers into a single AWS-hosted SAS environment.
- Configure HTTPS for secure communication.
- Update scheduling jobs to match existing production environments.
- Troubleshoot migration issues and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Complete Safeguards SCSEM Cloud 7.0 and RHEL 7.0 security compliance checklists.
- Prepare technical documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.
Must-Have Skills
- Hands-on experience with SAS 9.4m8 installation and configuration.
- Experience migrating SAS environments from on premises to AWS.
- Experience completing Safeguards SCSEM Cloud 7.0 and RHEL 7.0 security checklists.
- Strong AWS infrastructure knowledge.
- Experience with Windows and Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Knowledge of SAS Metadata Server, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Libraries, and SAS/Access.
- Experience applying SAS hotfixes and validating platform installations.
- Strong troubleshooting and migration support experience.
