Job Summary & Essential Functions
The position involves electronic components, reviewing component data sheets, finding substitute parts when a part has a long lead time or has gone obsolete. The position works with other engineering departments and with customers. This position requires the following: have good communication skills, an understanding of electronics and components, and some understanding of mechanical systems.
- Find substitute components meeting form fit function with and without customer guidance
- Uploading quoting information into company ERP system
- Generating Internal Change Requests
- Creating parts and uploading BOMs into ERP system
- Uploading BOMs into Silicon Expert to monitor BOM/Component lifecycles
- Communications with customer regarding component
- Verification and validation of received components
- Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of analog electronics
- Knowledge of digital electronics
- Knowledge of how compnents are packaged and how it works with manufacturing
- Knowledge of electronic components
- Understanding of PC hardware is a plus
- Basic Ability to perform root cause analysis
- Basic understanding of ROHS
- Basic level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
- Ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities
- Ability to provide solutions to complex problems
- Ability to multitask and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
- Abilities listed in General Requirements of Team Members
Required Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field or relevant experience
- Previous experience in electronic industry a plus
- Previous experience in electromechanical systems a plus
