This position serves as the client-facing technical lead and internal technical expert for advanced rock property (RCA/SCAL) programs, petrophysics/core–log integration, and simulation-ready deliverables. This position is accountable for technical excellence and innovation across the full workflow: from sample preparation and test design, through instrument programming and automation, QA/QC controls, interpretation, uncertainty quantification, and reporting and client engagement.

This position is accountable for technical excellence and innovation across the full workflow: from sample preparation and test design, through instrument programming and automation, QA/QC controls, interpretation, uncertainty quantification, and reporting and client engagement.
Essential Job Duties And Responsiblities
- Serve as the technical director and client-facing authority for E&P rock properties programs spanning reservoir simulation (appraisal/development), CCUS, EOR, and formation evaluation deliverables.
- Define fit-for-purpose test strategies: translate client objectives into experimental designs, acceptance criteria, QC plans, uncertainty requirements, and simulation-ready outputs.
- Own end-to-end technical delivery and interpretation for SCAL/RCA programs, ensuring outputs are defensible, decision-ready, and aligned with reservoir and simulation objectives .
- Deliver model-ready packages (Pc/kr tables, endpoints/conditioning rules, saturation-height functions, rock typing frameworks, calibrated transforms) with clear assumptions, traceability, and uncertainty bounds.
- Establish and enforce QA/QC gates: calibration/verification, comparability checks, artifact detection, non-physical behaviour screening, and inter-run/inter-lab consistency controls.
- Lead transformation of laboratory systems through instrument programming, DAQ integration, and workflow automation to materially improve throughput, reproducibility, and cost efficiency.
- Develop and deploy AI/ML-enabled workflows that standardize QC, reduce manual interpretation effort, and scale delivery of consistent, high-quality results across projects.
- Provide dotted-line technical oversight of lab staff and specialists: coaching, technical reviews, skills development, and escalation support; set technical standards and best practices.
- Act as a technical partner to Business Development, enhancing proposal quality, supporting high-value pursuits, and strengthening long-term client relationships through technical credibility.
- Drive continuous improvement via SOP updates, method development, and technology roadmaps that differentiate the lab in quality, speed, and technical defensibility.
- Represent the lab externally through technical reviews, client workshops, and (as appropriate) publications/presentations aligned with confidentiality and business strategy.
- To carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and strategy, and to exercise good judgment, commons sense, and diplomacy in so doing.
- Perform other duties as required
- 15 years (preferably 20 ) experience in SCAL/RCA program design, execution oversight, and interpretation for E&P applications.
- Degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, or related discipline OR equivalent expertise demonstrated through career impact.
