Interstate Equipment Company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician to travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy machinery. Responsibilities include performing on-site mechanical repairs, interacting with customers to resolve issues, documenting work orders, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Key responsibilities
- In-field repairs: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery and equipment at customer locations. This can include disassembling, reconditioning, and servicing components.
- Responsible for owning and maintaining tools.
- Customer service: Serve as a direct representative of the company, communicating clearly and professionally with customers to identify and solve their problems and ensure satisfaction.
- Safety and maintenance: Follow all safety rules, maintain a clean work area, and care for company tools and equipment.
- Professional development: Participate in company-sponsored training to stay up to date on new technologies and repair procedures for the equipment they service.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment service.
- Familiarity with CAT, John Deere, and Komatsu is a plus.
- Ability to quickly learn and use shop computer software; must be able to use a tablet to run diagnostic tests and enter job information.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Self-starter with initiative and a proven ability to taken ownership of responsibilities.
- Ability to make informed decisions quickly and independently.
This is a full time, hourly role that requires occasional overtime.
