Interstate Chemical Company is looking for an in-person, skilled Customer Service Representative with 2 to 5 years of experience in the customer service realm. Knowledge of the chemical industry desired, but not required.
This position is for a hardworking, motivated individual who enjoys contact with the customer.
Responsibilities:
- Entering all orders into the computer and printing required paperwork.
- Notifying customers of COD amounts and credit problems.
- Preparing batch slips for blends.
- Obtaining or completing required documents to process an order. For example: Liquibin Liability Statements, Storage Tank Registrations, Tax Exemption Certificates, Certificates of Analysis, Custom Papers.
- Preparing paperwork for invoicing.
- Handling all customer complaints and communicate them to the proper personnel.
- Handling all customer inquiries about products, prices, and services and sending out all requested documents to salespeople and customers.
- Updating pricing in the customer files in the computer as needed.
- Filing all correspondence and related documents in customer files.
- Controlling inventory for any outside warehouse located in the assigned territory.
- Coordinating activity with office personnel in outside warehouses.
- Phoning customer periodically to obtain orders needed to fill outgoing trucks.
- Processing all credit card payments.
- Updating all customer information in the computer on an ongoing basis.
- Preparing shipping papers for returned material and empty containers picked up at customer locations.
NOTE: Although this job description is Interstate Chemical Company’s attempt at describing most functions performed by the Customer Service Representative, there are times when management will request additional assignments to be carried out.
Experience:
- Previous customer service experience is preferred
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in data entry and computer skills
