Mainframe Tester

Job Title: Mainframe Testing

Location: Columbia, SC 29212 100% Remote

Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)

Interview Process: 1 Round – Virtual

Daily Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test plans for mainframe-based Medicaid applications.

• Perform functional, system, integration, and business interface testing as applicable to project requirements.
• Test software coding changes involving Medicaid systems and related data.
• Analyze test results, identify discrepancies, and investigate differences between expected and actual outcomes.
• Collaborate with development teams and project stakeholders to resolve testing issues.
• Support client with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Coordinate testing activities with internal users, external healthcare providers, and trading partners as needed.
• Prepare and maintain business, process, and technical testing documentation.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project deadlines.
• Collaborate with Clemson University staff and other contracted project resources.

Required Skills

4 years of experience with Mainframe systems.

• 4 years of experience with MVS COBOL.
• 4 years of experience with JCL (Job Control Language).
• 4 years of experience with Software Testing.
• 4 years of experience creating Test Scenarios.

Preferred SkillsExperience with SQL.

• Experience with Serena ChangeMan.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel as a testing tool.
• ISTQB Certification preferred.

EducationBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
