Overview of the Position
This position of Digital Print Artisan is a full-time production position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week and reports to the Digital Print Department Lead. Using large format digital printers and various computer software products, the Digital Print Artisan is responsible for creating and printing color graphics and text on a wide variety of materials used to mass produce interior signs. This is a hands-on production position. Knowledge and usage of Adobe software, RIP software and color matching techniques are a huge advantage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consistently create and perform customer focused practices, maintaining quality workmanship at all times.
- Work respectfully and cooperatively with artisans, leads and management, with a goal to create positive working relationships.
- Maintain work efficiency and ensure goals are met.
- Communicate positively and effectively with others in this department, other departments and your supervisor to ensure orders are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Establish and maintain an acceptable attendance record, reporting to work on time and as scheduled.
- Have the ability to effectively and efficiently operate large format digital printers, including roll and flatbed - preferably in large/grand format.
- Understand paperwork, varied materials and processes needed to create the specified product.
- Create print files and cut files using computer programs, specifically Adobe Illustrator.
- Organize and prioritize work.
- Use the 4D system to track and document order production.
- Order and stock materials as needed.
- Troubleshoot and maintain equipment as needed. Ensure all digital press ink heads are routinely maintained and cleaned as required by the manufacturer.
- Upon completion, inspect order for accuracy before sending on to the next area.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment based on company and departmental 5S standards.
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned as needed to meet company goals and requirements.
Education & Qualification requirements
High School diploma or GED equivalent with 1-3 plus years of experience in large format print. Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office products and Adobe Illustrator is required. Experience working with large format digital equipment including Fuji and HP and various RIP software is preferred.
Current Openings:
- 2nd Shift - Monday through Friday 2:00pm to 10:30 pm
- 3rd Shift - Sunday through Thursday 9:30pm to 6:00am
Overtime required based on company needs.
