With a slower pace, you'll take ownership of specimen processing, assist with patient collections, and support essential diagnostic services.Pay: $17.50 - $23.70 Per Hour DOE Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pmBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision with In-Network & Custom Network discounts401(K) with discretionary employer matchPaid Time OffFree clinical diagnostic laboratory testing performed in houseWhat You'll Do:Lab OperationsTake full ownership of pre-analytical processes, including specimen handling, preparation, and processing.Support daily laboratory workflows to ensure accurate and timely testing.Phlebotomy & Specimen HandlingPerform phlebotomy and other specimen collection procedures.Receive, label, and manage specimens with accuracy and care.Prepare and coordinate send-out specimens for external laboratory testing.Administrative & Computer TasksEnter orders and perform clerical/computer-based duties to support operations.Maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance and smooth workflow.Quality & AccuracyFollow established procedures to ensure specimen integrity and reliable results.Maintain attention to detail in all tasks and processes.Adaptability & GrowthLearn new processes, systems, and clinic-specific procedures.Take on additional responsibilities as skills and knowledge develop.Education & Certification:High school diploma or equivalent requiredWashington Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy certification (MA-P) requiredExperience:Previous on-the-job phlebotomy experience is preferred but not requiredA consistent work history and reliability is preferredSkills & Competencies:Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and team membersExceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracyExcellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficientlyPhysical Requirements: Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.About Us: Interpath Laboratory is a family-owned and operated clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory serving communities across Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, and Idaho.
