English as a Second Language Teacher

Antares Denver is seeking dedicated and passionate English language instructors to join our team. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and a strong commitment to enhancing the language skills of our diverse student body. This position requires in-person instruction. Successful instructorsAre well-prepared for all classes, implementing the Antares curriculumFoster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and interaction.Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate their learning.Keep accurate records, i.e., student attendance, grades, and lesson plansAre aware of and adhere to all school policiesCollaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional practices.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language instruction.Attend instructor meetings, and participate in Living Language Labs and other Center activities QualificationsEducationRequired: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with TESL certificationIf you have a bachelor's degree in any field and no TESL certificate, but are willing to seek one immediately, we will consider your application for a teacher-in-training.Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, TEFL, ESL, or related field from an accredited institution;Strongly preferred: Master’s degree in TESOL, TEFL, Linguistics, Language Education or a closely related field.ExperiencePreferred: Two years of ESL or FL teaching adultsPay: Fully qualified teachers typically begin with a base rate of $21/hr with a 1.2 multiplier for teaching hours to account for prep and grading, so roughly $25.20/hr.Hours: We are open to teacher who can teach partial schedules, particularly Tuesday and Wednesday, or full schedules. Classes are 4.5 hours per night, Monday-Thursday. A full class is 18 hours per week in the classroom.Most classes start at 4:30 p.m., but some may begin at 4:00 p.m.Prep and grading schedules are at your discretion--no required office hours.We also require 1 hour every two weeks for attending teachers' meeting, which is paid at the base rate.The Living Language Labs and other center activities may occur at various times during the week, but we generally try to keep them during the class hours.
